LMSW

Hello, I am Britany! I provide therapy for adults, children, and teens. I recognize that deciding to work with a therapist is a big step in you and/or your child’s healing journey.

I have extensive experience working with individuals (children and adults) dealing with CPTSD/PTSD, grief, depression, anxiety, and those looking for parenting support. My approach is trauma-informed and person-centered, and I am deeply committed to addressing systemic harm and oppression that impact individuals’ well-being.

I believe in creating a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients to explore their thoughts and emotions. I use a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Somatic/Mindfulness techniques to help clients gain insight into their behavior patterns and make lasting changes. I am also currently working on my certification towards Child-Centered Play Therapy.

I am dedicated to helping individuals overcome their struggles and achieve a sense of peace and fulfillment in their lives. My ultimate goal is to support you and/or your child in validating and processing all emotions, and to understand that no feeling is permanent. I value the importance of building a healthy and supportive therapeutic relationship, where feedback is welcomed and treatment goals can be adjusted as needed.

I believe in promoting self-compassion and guiding you and/or your child in developing self-care practices throughout your journey. I also incorporate elements of humor and lightheartedness when appropriate. Together, we will work through past and present life experiences to help reconnect to you and/or your child’s authentic self.

There is nothing harder than watching your child struggle with big emotions, anxiety, or behaviors you don’t quite know how to navigate. You want them to feel confident, understood, and happy, but sometimes traditional “talk” just isn’t enough. I believe that play is a child’s first language. While adults use words to process their world, children use play to express what they can’t yet say. As an LMSW getting specialized training in Child-Centered Play Therapy—and currently working toward my full certification—I provide a dedicated space where your child can lead the way. Through play, I help children process trauma, build emotional resilience, and develop the coping skills they need to thrive. I know that when a child is struggling, the whole family feels it. I don’t just work with your child in isolation; I work with you. Parenting through mental health challenges or developmental milestones requires its own set of tools. I offer a supportive, non-judgmental space for parents to: Understand the “why” behind their child’s behaviors. Strengthen the parent-child bond through attachment-based strategies. Develop practical, trauma-informed techniques to use at home. Navigate the complexities of raising a resilient child in today’s world. My clinical background in Central New York has taught me that healing happens when a person—no matter how small—feels truly seen and safe. Whether I am co-facilitating an adolescent DBT group or sitting on the floor in a play session, my focus is always on person-centered, trauma-informed care. You don’t have to navigate this journey alone. Whether your child is struggling with anxiety, life transitions, or social-emotional hurdles, I am here to provide the specialized, high-touch care your family deserves.
