Child-Centered Play Therapy
Why Child-Centered Play Therapy?
Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) is designed for children ages 3–10 who are experiencing social, emotional, behavioral, or relational disorders. In CCPT, a child's experience with the therapeutic relationship is the factor that is most healing and meaningful in creating lasting, positive change. Based on person-centered principles, the goal of CCPT is to help the child reach their fullest potential. Play is used as a way to communicate feelings, solve problems, and learn skills in CCPT because children are experts in play and are not always experts with using thier words.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
AKA Talk Therapy
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy approrpiate for children, adolescents, teens, and adults. CBT relies on talking as a form of communication during the therapy session. CBT focuses on modifying dysfunctional emotions, behaviors, and thoughts. Although this type of therapy relies on talking as a form of communication, often during these sessions our therapists will engage a non-adult client in a game, use art, or provide items to fidget with while talking.
Parent/Guardian Support
You Matter Too
We care about your child, but you play an important role in your child's life. Studies show that treatment outcomes are more effective when parents/guardians are involved. We meet with parents/guardians to talk about what can be done outside of the therapy session and of course, to be a support for you if you need it. Your child does not need to be in therapy with one of our providers to get support for yourself. Sometimes we find that parents/guardians feel like they want therapy for themselves. It is not uncommon to become triggered or unraveled when raising children because some of our issues come up or even resurface.

ADHD Parent/Guardian Support
Support meetings where parents/guardians of children diagnosed with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) seek guidance and support from a professional.
During these support meetings, parents/guardians can discuss:
1. Understanding ADHD: Learning about the nature of ADHD, its symptoms, and how it affects their child's behavior and learning.
2. Behavior Management Strategies: Gaining practical strategies to manage their child's behavior, including positive reinforcement techniques, setting routines, and establishing clear expectations.
3. Educational Support: Exploring ways to work with schools to ensure that their child receives appropriate accommodations and support in the educational environment.
4. Emotional Support: Addressing any emotional challenges the child may face, as well as helping parents cope with their own feelings of frustration, anxiety, or guilt.
6. Resources and Referrals: Finding additional resources, such as support groups, to further assist their family.
These consultations can be invaluable for parents/guardians seeking to better understand ADHD and to learn effective ways to support their child’s development and well-being. Meetings are scheduled on an as needed basis; you can schedule as many or as few as you would like.
